Let’s be honest. Nobody really “likes” competencies. Generally, they are hard. But necessary.
They’re like accounting codes or the Dewey Decimal System. Your organization is full of talents of all flavors and varieties, but without a way to categorize, catalog, and report back on these traits, you simply have chaos.

A few suggestions . . .
1. Establish a directory of key words corresponding to critical skills and competencies within your company, and then see who generates or receives the most emails on any particular topic.
